The ECTS grading scale has been developed to allow the conversion of a grade from one European institution to another.
This scale does not replace the ULB grading system, it complements it as it allows to compare achievements of a student to the ones of his peers during previous years.
The ECTS grading scale is based on the statistical distribution of grades and the calculation of the threshold for each grade:
