Objectives include comprehending and applying fundamental concepts (for example: the drivers of economic growth in the very long run and in the long run, and strategies for managing aggregate demand in the open economy).

Prerequisites and Corequisites

Required and Corequired knowledge and skills

Students should have a solid grounding in the macroeconomic principles covered in ECON-S1703, as part of this course builds directly on those foundational concepts.

Teaching methods and learning activities

The theoretical course offers a first contact with the subject. The emphasis is on intuitions and basic concepts, as well as links to economic news.

The exercise sessions allow concepts to be developed. It's about going further than intuition and working with the material.
