ULB Desk For Refugees
The ULB Desk For Refugees welcomes and supports refugee students (or those awaiting this status) in their administrative procedures, before, during, and after enrollment at ULB.
The ULB Desk For Refugees exclusively serves students and future students who have refugee status, stateless status, asylum seeker status, or subsidiary/temporary protection. The service assists and directs the student in administrative procedures, before, during, and after registration.
The ULB Desk For Refugees is competent to:
- Guide you in your registration process at ULB within a regular curriculum, or as a free student;
- Assist you with your qualification recognition requests;
- Direct you to the most competent services to address your needs if necessary (for example, enrolling in French courses to achieve a sufficient level for academic success).
Depending on the case, the student may benefit from:
- An analysis for the total or partial coverage of registration fees;
- Financial support from the Student Social Service;
- Registration for a single course or as an auditor;
- Registration for the French language proficiency exams (only for students wishing to enroll in master's programs geared towards teaching or leading to the title of Aggregated Teacher of Upper Secondary Education (AESS).
- Paying the administrative fees of ULB amounting to €200 for the examination of the admission application;
- Paying the administrative fees for an equivalency application;
- Speeding up the process related to applications to the ULB registration service, the Immigration Office, municipalities, and the Federation Wallonie-Bruxelles.
