Course content

The course strives to present several major writers (Chrétien de Troyes, Montaigne, Voltaire, Hugo…) and to study the great aesthetic movements by relying on the evolution of various literary genders (poetry, theatre, novel, essay a.s.o.). The central questioning lies in the evolution of the author’s status and work, as well as in that of the supports and of the readers.

Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)

Ensure the basic formation in the history of French literature.

Ex cathedra courses, personal readings and exercising sessions.
