Course content
- Understanding the basic principles and core skill of workplace coaching This foundational module serves as a comprehensive introduction to the world of coaching, laying the groundwork for participants to embark on their coaching journey.
- Improve communication skills and master the art of active listening
- Deepen advanced questioning techniques and the art of providing constructive feedback
- Building on the communication skills acquired in the previous module, this module focuses on guiding participants through the critical process of helping clients identify clear goals and develop actionable plans for achievement.
- Understanding emotional intelligence and its components and how it helps you to coach more effectively (refer to active listening).
- What is motivation (alignment with emotions, needs/values and purpose). Intrinsic and extrinsic motivation and their impact on performance.
- Participants explore various forms of resistance to change and discover tools and techniques to help overcome obstacles that hinder progress and performance.
- Exploring the dynamics of coaching within a group or team setting, addressing the unique challenges and opportunities that arise in collective coaching environments.
- This final module focuses on the ethical considerations in coaching and guides participants in the ongoing development of their coaching practice.
Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)
- Why coaching is important in the modern workplace.
- The basic skills of how to coach and will have had the opportunity to practice these.
- Several coaching tools and techniques and how these might be used in coaching.
- How to contract with coachees and maintain ethical boundaries.
- The value of self-reflection and continuous learning for self-improvement.
- Where to obtain further information should they wish to deepen/broaden their coaching skills. • How to apply coaching in a manager role.
Teaching methods and learning activities
The program will be experiential and participatory in format, that is, each module will be made up of both learning and practicing in pairs or small groups. Students will be encouraged to bring real-life problems for which they are seeking solutions. They will also be encouraged to meet in pairs or in groups of three outside of the program in order practice their coaching skills. The course will be face-to-face delivery.

To gain a Pass in this program, all students must meet the following criteria:
1. Attendance:
- Students must attend at least 7 out of 8 modules to pass the course.
- Attendance will be recorded at each session.
- Students must attend and pass a written exam reflecting on their personal coaching journey and learning from the course.
- The assignment will be graded on 20 points based on clarity, depth of reflection, and application of coaching concepts.
Mark calculation method (including weighting of intermediary marks)
The grade will be the score of the written exam eventually corrected with a bonus for active participation during the courses.
