Course content
Acquisition of fundamental language skills (listening comprehension, reading, written and oral expression) allowing the student to deepen his knowledge of Dutch in order to function independently.
Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)
At the end of BA2, the student will master level B1 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
He will be able to:

understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc

deal with most situations likely to arise while travelling in an area where the language is spoken
-
produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest
-
describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans

• Continuous assessment: one presentation, two portfolios with an oral assessment (if the portfolio is incomplete, students cannot take part in the oral assessment and this part of the continuous assessment will be marked as zero)
• Oral examination in May/June.
Mark calculation method (including weighting of intermediary marks)
May/June:
- Continuous assessment: a presentation in Q2 (15%)
- Portfolio: creation and discussion of the content in Q1 (15%) (the portfolio must be complete in order to sit the oral assessment)
- Portfolio: creation and discussion of the content in Q2 (20%) (the portfolio must be complete in order to sit the oral assessment)
- Oral examination in June (50%).
- Oral examination (questions on the syllabus): 70%
- Portfolio: students who achieved a mark of at least 10/20 for their portfolio in the first sitting will retain that mark in August (30%). Students who did not submit a portfolio or who achieved a mark of less than 10/20 for their portfolio in the first sitting must submit a new portfolio (30%).
