Course content
Initiation to the basic concepts and tools of religious studies and Islamic studies.
Pre-Islamic Arabic.
Issues around Muhammad's biography - the making of a prophet.
The Qur'an: history and contents of a text
The making of Islamic identity
Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)
The aim of the course is to give students the knowledge and tools necessary for studying the texts, practices and beliefs of the Muslim tradition.
