Course content
Reminder on the theory of equilibrium statistical ensembles, phase transitions, non-ideal systems, density functional theory, functional integrals, theory of critical phenomena, renormalization group theory, foundations of nonequilibrium statistical mechanics, fluctuation theorem, diffusion, linear response theory, microscopic hydrodynamic modes and transport coefficients, Green-Kubo formulae, Onsager reciprocity relations, Boltzmann equation.
Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)
This course is devoted to the concepts and methods of statistical mechanics in systems of interacting particles and it completes in this way a statistical physics bachelor course.
