Grammaire de l'italien I

In this course, students will learn the basics of Italian phonetics and spelling (the alphabet, syllabification, the use of the apostrophe, etc.), basic morphology (articles, nouns and adjectives, prepositions, pronouns, verbs – in the present tense, passato prossimo, future, imperfect, present and past conditional, and imperative – as well as adverbs and conjunctions), and basic syntactic structures. Following a gradual progression, students will develop their ability to understand both written and spoken Italian and to communicate effectively in both written and oral contexts. They will be able to understand conversations relating to familiar situations and respond appropriately using basic language structures and simple vocabulary. They will also learn to grasp the general meaning of written and spoken texts dealing with both general and more specific topics. 

By the end of the course, students will be able to understand and summarise simple general and literary texts, write short texts on familiar situations, introduce themselves, and talk about themselves, their habits and their preferences in different areas (fashion, food, holidays, etc.).

The ROMA-B-120 course aims to provide students with a knowledge of the basic morphology of the Italian language and its fundamental syntactic structures, enabling them to develop proficiency in both spoken and written Italian. The objective is to reach level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in the five language skills: reading, listening, speaking, writing and interaction.
