Course content

In this course, students will continue studying the morphology and syntactic structures of the Italian language through the reading of different types of texts, writing activities, and guided oral exercises. The reading and listening materials, as well as the exercises, will be selected around a specific theme. A class project based on this theme will also be organised, such as writing a collective story or compiling a recipe book.

Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)

By the end of this course unit, students will have acquired a solid foundation in Italian grammar. They will also be able to understand conversations about familiar situations; respond appropriately using basic language structures and simple vocabulary; grasp the general meaning of written and spoken texts dealing with general or more specific topics; write summaries or short texts about familiar situations; introduce themselves; and talk about themselves, their habits, and their preferences in various areas. The aim is to attain level A2.3 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in the five skills: reading, listening, speaking, writing, and interaction.

Contribution to the teaching profile

This course aims to deepen students’ knowledge of basic Italian morphology and elementary syntactic structures, enabling them to use these structures actively in both oral and written communication.
