Course content
Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)
- Develop the necessary knowledge regarding the communication challenges posed by digital evolutions
- Develop a critical perspective on digital evolutions
- Gain an interdisciplinary perspective on current questions revolving media and digital evolutions
Teaching methods and learning activities
The course consist mainly of lectures. The lectures aim to familiarize students with challenges surrounding digital evolutions, rooted in communication theory and interdisciplinary approaches (e.g., media psychology). The lectures are given by Professor Maes.
Next to these sessions, 4 exercise sessions will be guided by the assistants in which students will make a task related to the course content seen so far. In the end, students will combine the tasks in one overarching portfolio and submit the portfolio via the Université Virtuelle.

The written exam will be graded on 15 points, the remaining 5 points will be graded based on the portfolio. The written exam will include questions about theory and research discussed during the lectures.
