Course content

Detailed study of novels about a particular theme or literary movement which hasn't been approached during the bachelor education (for example:postcolonial literature, literature bij women writers, travel literature). Introductory lectures bij the teacher followed bij discussions about the novels. Home readings leading tot the writing and the presentation of a groupwork and two essays.

Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)

Refining and developing the analysis capacities which have been acquired during the Bachelor education. Increasing the literary, cultural and linguistic knowledge and the oral expression. Initiating the students to the research into the writing of their endpaper.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Introductory lectures by the teacher followed by discussions about the novels.

References, bibliography, and recommended reading

Changes according to the analysed authors and developed themes. The bibliographical list is given out to the students at the beginning of the academic year.
