Managing errors in organisations (Chaire InBev Baillet Latour)

What would you do if all the informatic system of your company crashed for 2 months? How would you react when discovering that an AI report sent to a client is full of hallucinations? These are examples tackled by this course. It aims at teaching the sciences and history behind error management. Based on case studies, the course’s objective is to help students acquiring both a practical know-how and a solid theoretical base necessary for their future professional responsibilities. It provides them with classical “error management” cases such as airline security and deals with contemporary problems such as AI use and environmental issues. The course also fosters critical thinking by delving into the conceptual background behind error management sciences: psycho-neurology, sociology of organisations and pragmatic philosophy.
