Course content
This course examines how European regulation shapes the choices, strategies, and competitive environment of firms. It combines economic reasoning with an accessible understanding of EU institutions and policymaking, using timely business and policy cases to explore why markets are regulated, how rules are designed and enforced, and how firms respond. Students will develop a practical framework for evaluating regulatory choices, their consequences for different stakeholders, and the trade-offs between market integration, innovation, sustainability, and competitiveness.
Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)
Students will be able to analyse how EU regulation affects firms and markets; assess the rationale, design, and enforcement of regulatory choices; and evaluate their consequences and trade-offs for different stakeholders.

Lectures.

The professor reserves the right to invite any student to a complementary oral interview to verify personal mastery of the content of the submitted exam, particularly when inconsistencies in the exam do not allow the holder to correctly assess the level of mastery of the knowledge and skills targeted by the teaching.
