Course content

Linear algebra : recalling the theory of vector spaces and euclidian spaces; linear varieties and quadratic forms.- Sequences and series : numerical series, series of functions, Fourier series, sequences in R^n, limits.- Differential calculus in several variables : coninuity, differentiability, Taylor's formula, convexity, extrema.- Integral calculus in several variables : double integrals and surface integrals.
Objectives (and/or specific learning outcomes)
The student will be capable of :

combining the notions of abstract mathematics with his geometric intuition;

solving complex problems in several dimensions and infinite dimensions.

Ex-cathedra theory courses and exercice sessions where the students try to solve problems under supervision of an assistant.

A note on 20 is attributed after the written exam. Theory : 40%; exercices : 60%.
