Internship in the advanced track of Psychological Sciences. The internship aims to provide students with practical research training in a research unit or laboratory in Belgium or abroad. It also provides the student with practical and professional training. It may also take the form of a field internship.

The objective is to place students in a professional context as encountered in academia or beyond.

Internship locations must meet the specific requirements of the advanced track of the Master’s degree in Psychological Sciences. Any internship at a new location must be approved in advance by the academic coordinator of the track, Professor Adélaïde de Heering (Adelaide.de.Heering@ulb.be).

Professional Training Practical Sessions (TPFP) are also organised in parallel to the internship, for a total of 24 hours per internship. Each internship requires a written report submitted to the TPFP instructor.

Other

The grade for the research internships (PSYC-E-461 and PSYC-E-536) consists of three components:
- The internship supervisor’s grade (/20)
- The internship report grade (/20)
- The participation grade for the TPFP sessions (/10)
The total grade out of 50 is then converted to a grade out of 20. The final grade is rounded up to the nearest half point.
Important: For the internship to be validated, students must obtain at least 10/20 for the grade awarded by the internship supervisor. A grade below 10/20 for this component automatically requires the student to complete another internship, regardless of the grades obtained for the other components.
