Tracing differentiation processes through siderophile elements, from meteorites to giant ore deposits.

The DESIRED project aims to understand more about the "construction" of the Earth and what makes it a unique planet, such as the presence of water and other volatile substances, a magnetic field, plate tectonics and life.

It focuses particularly on the distribution of siderophile elements (including gold, platinum group elements and rhenium) in terrestrial rocks and meteorites in order to better constrain the planetary differentiation processes and the formation of deposits of global importance.
