Criteria of the Central Admissions Committee for undergraduate programmes

Students who are nationals of countries outside the European Union

Students who are nationals of countries outside the European Union who do not meet the criteria set out in Article 3 of the Decree of 11 April 2014 adapting the funding of higher education institutions to the new organisation of studies wishing to apply for a year of undergraduate study must satisfy average mark criteria, criteria relating to the length of time since obtaining the secondary school leaving certificate and administrative requirements relating to equivalence applications. These criteria are set by the undergraduate admissions committee.

Only one application for admission may be submitted per academic year. Only candidates who have been granted partial equivalence that does not give them access to the studies for which the admission application was submitted or who have failed the Polytechnique entrance examination may have their application re-examined by the Committee with a view to a possible reorientation.

Enrolment deposit : Non-EU candidates are required to pay an administration fee of €200.

More information about administration fees

Applicants are required to pay an administration fee of €200. This payment constitutes a precondition for the application to be reviewed. Full information about payment will be available in the application portal.

Please note : international transfer fees are payable by the candidate.

As this administration fee is non-refundable if admission is refused or if the candidate does not complete their enrolment for the academic year concerned, applicants are advised to carefully check whether they meet the access conditions for the programme they wish to study.

Average mark criteria

You must have obtained an average mark of 13/20 in your secondary school leaving certificate for which an equivalence to the Belgian Certificate of Higher Secondary Education (CESS) must be obtained (this does not apply to the International Baccalaureate or IBO).
You must also have obtained a mark of at least 12/20 in subjects directly related to your application for admission. The mark of 12/20 in these specific subjects will be verified in all assessments that led to the award of the secondary school leaving certificate (including state examinations, national examinations, regional examinations, continuous assessment, etc.).
