Contenu du cours

The Dutch course (see Virtual University) consists of:

  • an online grammar course on Virtual University
  • 2,000 vocabulary words, which can be found in Woorden in Context (details on UV)

Objectifs (et/ou acquis d'apprentissages spécifiques)

The Dutch course aims to provide a general refresher of basic vocabulary and basic grammatical structures (B1 level). At the end of the course unit, students will have reached B1 level, particularly in their ability to understand Dutch, with a focus on receptive language skills.

For Dutch, an A2 level is required. Courses specifically designed for beginners are offered at Foundation 9 (see information on UV).

During the first semester, a course covering the entire syllabus (grammar and vocabulary) is taught.

In January, an examination covering the entire syllabus is held.

Students who obtain a mark of 12/20 or higher in this examination are exempt from the course for the remainder of the academic year. The January examination grade counts as their final grade.

Students who do not obtain 12/20 in the January examination are required to attend a face-to-face course held on campus.

Written examination in the form of a multiple-choice questionnaire (MCQ). In the event of suspected cheating or technical problems, an oral examination may be organized. The lecturer may also question the student during the examination review.

  • Written examination (MCQ) in January (100%): If the student obtains a mark of 12/20 or higher in this examination, this mark counts as the final grade for Dutch.
  • Written examination (MCQ) in June (100%): For students who did not obtain 12/20 in the January examination.

  • Written examination (100%)
