Objectifs (et/ou acquis d'apprentissages spécifiques)

The Project Management course has five main objectives, namely:

  • To develop students’ project management skills both hard and soft, through greater theoretical understanding and practical application of the project management principles.

  • To explain the essential skills required to be an excellent project manager.

  • To show what are the key elements that influence project management outcome.

  • To explain why many projects fail and why few are successful

  • To present the main project management frameworks: PMI and Prince2 for traditional projects and Agile for iterative or customer centric projects.

Students’ assessment will be based on the following components:

  • Final group case study (40%): Final Project Case (to be submitted by each group)

  • Group assignments (20%): The group assignments take place in the course sessions and relate to in-class small group projects.

  • Individual assignment (25%): students will have to answer one practical question on the Final Project Case to demonstrate their understanding of all project’s managerial dimensions.

  • Class participation (15%): class participation refers to the discussion and knowledge sharing in the class.
