Contenu du cours

The first chapter will deal about Electronics: sensors and signal conditioning. Sensors are

used to measure the external and internal state of the system. Sensory information is

needed to give the control system the necessary information how to control the actuators so

a desired task can be performed. The signal conditioner takes the signal from the sensor and

manipulates it into a condition which is suitable for the control system.

The second chapter Mechanics: mechanisms and actuation focusses mainly on the different

mechanisms and actuators that can be used so a mechanical system can influence its

environment.

In Computing: microcontrollers the device is discussed that has as input the sensor signals

and as output the actuators. In the microcontroller a program will connect the input signals

with the output signals over a controller so a desired task will be achieved. The controllers

are presented in the last chapter.

Because mechatronics brings together different areas of technology you will regularly find

topics of other courses repeated in this course. For the fundamental aspects of the different

topics is referred to these courses.

Evaluation

Méthode(s) d'évaluation

  • Autre

Autre

How is the student evaluated?

The theoretical examination (40%) consists of an oral presentation of the project and the end report. During this presentation aspects out of the lecture notes will be asked as well.

The project (60%) is further divided into:

  • 3/20: PCB realization

  • 2/20: CAD file realization

  • 4/20: teamwork

  • 2/20: presentation minimal requirements at intermediate deadline

  • 5/20: programming

  • 4/20: general performance robot

Quotation is per group, except if major differences are found in a group. The end report must be made in the form of a website that will be placed online afterwards.
